Happy Birthday!

Today is my husband's 30th birthday!  I know he wont read this, but I just wanted to wish him the best birthday and year ever!  I'm so very fortunate to have found him and I'm so very blessed that he has remained by my side {even though I'm crazy from time to time}.  I hope this year brings all the things he desires and much more!

Our Weekend

This weekend was definitely a busy one!  Since it's Monday and it seems I'm already behind, I'm using bullets.

  • Friday night we had our usual "date night" at Larry's Pizza and then watched our DVR'd shows.  We also did a load of laundry for my parents since their dryer is out of commission.
  • Saturday morning, I did my 9 mile group training run.  I felt wonderful - for once!  Yay!!
  • After a nap and some laundry, we started packing our bag for our overnight stay at The Peabody!
  • We met my MIL and friend there, checked in, and then headed over to Shogun's to meet the rest of the crew for dinner.  BTW, we were out celebrating my MIL's birthday.
  • After dinner, we headed over to a dueling piano bar for some entertainment and drinks!  After a few hours, we headed over to The Flying Saucer for some more drinks!
  • We closed down The Flying Saucer (1 am) and then headed over to our room - it was within walking distance to the downtown bars.
  • We woke up around 9am and showered.  Around 11am, we went to see the ducks (it's a Peabody thing).
  • Afterwards, we checked out of our room and headed over to the Olive Garden for some lunch.  We then parted ways.
  • For the rest of Sunday, we spent our time taking naps and then I did a little laundry and the week's grocery shopping.
  • And now it's Monday....which means work, school, and I finally get to see what I made on my Economics midterm.  Yikes!  Fingers crossed!
  • Btw, one last note... They were sold out of the Latte singles I posted about last week, so this week I'm trying something different.  It's called Hills Bros. Cappuccino Mix - I used milk instead of water and it's wonderful!  YUM!

My Birthday Recap Plus......

Good Morning!! First off, thank you for all of the birthday wishes! I did have a great birthday weekend! :) Here's a little recap of my weekend and just some random thoughts that are going through my head....
  • Friday hubs called and told me not to look at the bank account because he had just bought my birthday presents. Now, major points for buying them early!! Usually, he waits till the day of to buy anything. :) So, like a good wife, I didn't look at the account!
  • After work, he decides that I want to open one of my gifts now. Now, if you know us, you know that we can't wait to exchange gifts - we usually open them the day they're bought! So, keeping tradition... He bought me a 3in1 printer/scanner/copier, an external hard drive, and a Limited Gift Cert! I have the greatest husband! I wanted that 3in1 because I always had to print things at work and I wanted a scanner to scan old pictures and such. Then, I wanted that external hard drive because I have 4 years worth of pictures on my laptop and I was so afraid of losing them. And, we all know why I wanted the Limited Gift Cert! :)
  • Saturday morning, I ran 7.15 miles! I felt great and kept my 12:37ish overall pace! I plan to upload my last few runs sometime soon! Now, let me just say that I prefer Carb Boom over Gu! Gu is a little too thick, but I choked it down! Ugh. I might stick with Gu though because their packaging is easier to open while running and the size is smaller than Carb Boom. Which is important, btw, when you're stuffing them in your sports bra because you haven't found a belt that works yet! :) LOL
  • My grandma surprised me by stopping by after my run, with a birthday card and some cash! Thank you grandma! She's so sweet. :) Plus, I got a card in the mail from my mom! :)
  • My friends left me over 40 Happy Birthday messages on Facebook! Awww!
  • Sunday we ventured down to Hot Springs to see the family for my birthday. My MIL made an awesome homemade pizza for my birthday! She does this for birthdays and special occasions and it's so delicious! Also, there was a cake! It had cream cheese icing on it - Yum! You can bet that we took some pizza and cake home! :) Which, is probably why my stomach hates me this morning. Cake is not great for dinner.
  • While at Hot Springs, I received some lotion from B&BW, a homemade bag from my neice, and some moolah to go shopping with!!! I'm so excited!!
That just about wraps up my weekend! There was some other fun stuff that I've left out I'm sure, but this post is already too long! Maybe I'll share more during the week! :)

Weekend Recap With Pictures!

So, it's very rare that I post pictures - not because I don't love them, but because I never have any of them! And, these were stolen from my friend's facebook page...because my camera was in the car! LOL

Friday night - we went out to eat at Coltons..rented some movies... the end

Saturday - took hubs to his massage - btw, Indulgences is a fab place. Hubs went in for his massage and I took a seat and began reading magazines...Well, one of the ladies walked up and asked if I'd like to sit in the massage chair while hubs got his massage... Sure! So, I sat in a big, comfy, massaging chair in the back, while reading magazines! Cool, huh? I'd definitely recommend that place. It was really nice, clean, and friendly.

Then, we headed over to Shogun's. Really love that place. Afterwards, the 7 of us headed to a very crowded downtown to the FS and then SF. We had a blast. Here are a few pictures.

J had a few to drink. :)

Hubs & I - he has funny eyes for some reason....
Anyways, as you can tell... we went off of Lent for a night. Bad, I know. But, we're back on now.. And, side note... going to bed at 2am and then waking with a hangover - not.fun. We're not 19 anymore kids!! LOL
Sunday - we got up, checked out of our room, then headed home. Stopped by Taco Bueno (for some hangover grub) and then took longggg naps... proceeded by a homemade pizza...and more naps! I didn't even get out to go grocery shopping yesterday!! So, I shall go after work today! LOL But, I did do some laundry, dishes, and vacuum! That counts for something right??
Also...note... there were more people there than what's pictured...We just don't have pictures of them to prove it! LOL
All in all, it was a great weekend and hubs had a great Birthday Bash!!
Oh...and guess what?! Originally we decided that there would be no Mexico Vaca this year...but that's changed!! Details later!

I Can't Keep A Secret To Save My Life

Seriously, I can't. As a kid, I was always the girl who would coerce the secrets out of my friends and then run around on the playground spreading the rumor of who liked who. Yes, I was that kid.

Fast forward to now. I (along with one of hub's coworkers) have been planning a surprise birthday outing for my husband and I've been able to keep my mouth shut for almost two weeks, when it happened. I told my husband about the outing last night. Yes, I did.

Here's what happened....

I got the bright idea (a few weeks ago) to surprise my husband with something special for his birthday. Now, my hubs is one of those men who enjoy a good massage - from a pro. I love this about him. I'd never had a pro massage until we went to Mexico the first time. And to be honest, the idea of someone rubbing all over me kinda freaked me out. But, once I experienced it, I was in love. So, now, hubs and I go get massages every few months. Anyways, moving forward, I thought that I should book him a massage for his birthday weekend. Then, I started thinking... What if I got some of his friends together for a dinner...and drinks downtown... oh, maybe I should rent a hotel room so that we don't have to drive all the way home late at night.

So... I facebooked one of his co-workers and got the plan together. I booked his massage in a ritzy place (seen here), booked a hotel, and sent out emails/calls to his friends. I kept my mouth shut for a good week or more. And then, when Wednesday came around (his birthday), I laid out a birthday card that morning (before I left for work), then surprised him with an ice cream cake and some clothes (yes, I bought my man clothes)! Well, he wanted to know what else he was getting for his birthday. Yes, what else.

So, I told him about the massage. He said "what else." I said that I couldn't tell him, it was a surprise. Mistake #1. Long story short. He bugged me last night and even threatened to go hide in the deer woods all day Saturday - if I didn't tell him "what else." So, I spilled my guts. I told him we would be going downtown and we had a room. The, he asked if anyone else would be coming with us. I was a deer in the headlights. I just smiled a big, cheesy grin and said "noooooo." I couldn't help it. I had no control over my facial muscles. None. He just started laughing at me and said "You couldn't tell a lie if you're life depended on it." Nope, I can't. That's been established several times before. I suck at lying and keeping secrets.

So, for his birthday weekend, he will be getting a massage, we'll be heading to dinner at Shogun's with his friends and coworkers, then going downtown for drinks (btw, he got a freebie - we both gave up alcohol for lent), and then back to our room. Sounds fun, right? I'll take pictures.

I could never be a government official nor an FBI agent. LOL

In other "news".... my dad has been feeling bad and went to the doctor the other day (something he never does) and it's been noted that he has low white blood cells. So, on Monday, they're going to run tests on him at the hospital. So, let's hope and pray those tests go well.

My Birthday Weekend

So, this weekend was my birthday weekend...and to make the blog a tad shorter..I'm going to use bullets!
  • Friday night, my hubbie went and got my bday presents... I raided his truck as soon as he got home! I got 2 pairs of slippers! One were a pair of bright yellow, fuzzy ducky slippers and the second was a pair of ladybug slippers - the antennas bounce when you walk! He also got me a NICE giftcard to my favorite store - Maurices!! We then went out to eat at McAlister's (sp?) - a little bland, but I couldn't taste anyways - being sick sucks!
  • Saturday morning, I got up and ran 7 miles with our running group - with a FEVER!! I was determined not to miss this Saturday's run - sick or not - so I sucked it up and ran it - in my worst time ever... But hey, I'm still proud of myself!
  • After the run, I took a mini-nap and my awesome husband got me some much needed breakfast from Sonic! It was my birthday - and the eating rules don't apply!!
  • After I cleaned up, we headed over to the LR Zoo and met his mom and her friend there. I love the zoo! I absolutely love the monkeys and giraffes! I took a ton of pictures - but my camera is currently in SF and I wont have it back till Friday. So.. I'll post them sometime this weekend!
  • After 3 hours at the zoo, we headed over to On The Border - one of my favorite mexican restaurants! I had a huge margarita, ate lots of food, even tried some new stuff, and at the end - took two tequila shots! THOSE were my husbands idea!! But, props to me, the waiter said I was "Awesome" because I can do shots like a pro - must be due to those sorority days!! ha! Also, while there, I got presents from my MIL and her friend - the DVD "Maid of Honor" (really cute movie btw), another Maurices gift card, and this stuff!! I have never heard of that "stuff" before, and we've yet to try it out - but everyone else around here has heard of it and wants to know where to buy it! Ha!
  • And so.. after eating, we went bowling at Millennium. I love bowling! We played two very long games, in which I lost both, but I had a blast anyways (pictures soon to follow this weekend). I also enjoyed some Mr Bud Light as well... Tally for the night, one huge margarita, 2 tequila shots, and 3 beer - not bad, not bad. And no praying time with the porcelain gods. Score one for me! ha! jk
  • And last but not least, Sunday. I had to get up and take hubbie to the airport. More on that later. Then I spent all day in bed - with the exception of feeding the dogs, and getting more meds at Wal-Mart... I was running a fever and felt like poo. I barely managed a shower - although the water did not touch my head. I did however, catch some much needed Zzz's and watch some really neat shows on TLC.
Thankfully, today my fever is gone - well, I may have a small one... and I'm beginning to feel better. Yay.
