Why I Don't Believe...

In SANTA!! :)

A co-worker and I were just sitting here sharing our childhood stories of Christmas and Santa Claus... And it reminded me of the Christmas that I realized that Santa didn't exist... Now, that being said, if you're under the age of 10, please don't read this!! :)

I had a bad habit of following my parents around the house (or trailer) when I was younger (and I still do, just now it's my husband). That being said, when I was about 6 years old on Christmas Eve, I was following my mom around our trailer when she went to my parent's bedroom and flipped on the light switch. My mom gasped and turned the light off quickly, turned to me, and asked if I had seen anything... Me, being the little girl who always wanted to please everyone, said No, that I had not seen anything..when in reality I had saw an Atari. My mom seemed pleased with the answer, but then proceeded to find and scold my dad - for what I wasn't sure... Well, the next morning, Christmas Day, I ran to see what was under the Christmas tree, and there it was... an Atari - from Santa!! I knew immediately why my dad had gotten in trouble the night before...and knew that the kids at school were right...there was no Santa. :(

Don't worry, my parents had no idea at the time...

So, how did it happen to you? What's your story?

What? Santa doesn't exist?

Just kidding.

I never believed in him actually - my parents were pretty strict with all of the Santa stuff growing up. I probably won't be that restrictive when it comes to santa in our house. (o:

I remember I found out by catching my parents putting the presents under the Christmas Tree. We lived in a 2 story house and I think I was around 6 or 7 and I came down the stairs too early and saw them putting everything under the tree before we were supposed to wake up. I ran back upstairs without them seeing me and pretended I didn't know the truth. Then one day my little bro and I got into a fight and I was like 'oh yeah, you know what, Santa isn't real!'. Yeah he was upset and ran and told mom then I had to confess how I knew this!

I can't remember when I quit believing in Santa? I'll have to ask my mom if she knows! Good question!
