2011 Resolutions

I'm a little late on the resolutions train...

So, without further ado, here are my 2011 Resolutions:

  • Read 12 books for fun.
  • Become pregnant.  (We've been trying for over a year now.)
  • Sell our house and move.
  • Pay off remaining debt (besides the vehicles and house).
  • If not pregnant, set a new 5k PR.  Possibly train for another half marathon.
  • Make A's in my grad school classes.
  • Don't take each day for granted - try to find something special in each day.
I'd like to add that I've already started on the first goal - I finished a book this weekend and ALMOST finished a second.  Why didn't anyone tell me that The Hunger Games were so addictive and awesome?!

P.S.  Yesterday my Dad turned 50!  I love that man!  I believe we're going to celebrate it this coming weekend!  (Yes, my family celebrates birthdays a little late, ha.)

The List

So, since we have one more month of 2010, I thought it was fine time to look at that New Year's Resolution list again.  Here it is and my I've also noted my progress:

  • Make an A in all my grad school classes this year (and next). I made an A the first semester, the current is still in progress.
  • Make it to Spin Class 2 days a week (hopefully Tues & Thurs). Um, this didn't last.
  • Run atleast 2 times a week. (I haven't ran much since my half back in Oct.) This didn't really last either.
  • Run a total of 350 miles this year (look at the sidebar, this will be the most miles ever in a year for me). Not even close.  As a matter of fact, I wont even pass last year's mileage.
  • PR in a 5k race this year. This shouldn't be hard, as I had gotten faster this fall, but never ran a 5k race while training for my half... Completed!
  • Continue to work on reducing my body fat percentage. I've slacked the last few months; it's time to pick it back up! Which btw, means losing the now 6lbs I've gained over the Christmas celebrations. After losing the 6lbs, we'll re-evaluate then. Sadly, I still have some of those 6lbs.  Not sure where I stand on this... Kinda scary!
  • Continue to work on saving money and paying off debt. We are doing great in this area already, but I would like to continue doing so! We've done excellent on this!  Seriously!
  • Move. The hubs and I have been working on the thing above because we would really like to move this year and not carry any other debt with us. We're not sure which area (it will be nearby), but we're ready to move. We put our house on the market and made an offer that was accepted on another house, but had to let the offer expire because our house never sold.  Our house has been pulled off the market until spring.
  • Continue to work on biting my tongue while at work. I'm the type of person who will voice my opinions, concerns, and vent way too much. I'm afraid that I'm becoming known as someone who is a tad bossy and a little too outspoken. Eek. I think I've done very well at this.
  • Read 10 books for fun. I love to read and I need to make more time to do so. But, I'm picking a number of 10 due to Grad School. I have no idea how much time will be eaten up by working on this degree. Double eek. Completed as of last week!
  • Read more of The Bible. As silly as this may sound, I've added an app to my iPhone to help me do this. So far, it's working! I did really well for about 3 months, then it kind of fell by the way side.  Sad.
So, how have ya'll done with your Resolution's List?

2010 Resolutions

Like almost everyone else in the world, I'm making some New Year's Resolutions. Here's the quick and dirty:

  • Make an A in all my grad school classes this year (and next).

So, there you go! There are my resolutions for 2010!

A Few Things

It's Thursday - finally. This week has been super long, probably due to the icy roads and all that jazz. But, down to business...

We got a new tv Saturday. Did we need one? No. Actually, we replaced our 51 inch projection style tv with a 52 inch LCD. Hmm, what does that mean? It looks prettier. So..of course we had to get HD tv - because um, who has an HD capable tv and no HD service? Yeah, I dunno. Anyways, that also meant that we got a new DVR. So, the TiVo is now in the bedroom. Oh yeah, it is. Which means....drumroll... I get to record WHATEVER I WANT!!! Yes. It's amazing. Hubs gets the DVR in the living room and I get the TiVo in the bedroom. The DVR will hold all the shows we watch together and then his junk...and the TiVo will hold only my stuff. So, what shall I record?! I already have a small list...remember these are shows that I don't "get" to watch in the living room...The list being...
  • Brothers & Sisters
  • Samantha Who?
  • Cooking For Real
  • Paula's Best Meals - or something like that
  • 30 Minute Meals
So..what other shows should I record? We already watch Private Practice, Grey's, Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory, House and NCIS...Yes, we are tv addicts but we don't watch all those shows every week. :) Leave your suggestions/favorite shows in the comments!
Now, also.. I've been thinking of New Year's Resolutions... Since it's right around the corner... Here is my list so far...
  • Stop drinking so many cokes. Limit is 2 a week.
  • Chocolate is not necessary every day of the week. Just 3 days a week - ha!
  • Make some sort of cleaning schedule...
  • Exercise at least 4 days a week...instead of whenever I make it in the gym. :)
  • Save more $, save more $, save more $!!
  • Love and laugh more. Be happy.
What's your list?
